Your child will have been developing lots of new skills since their last health review. At this appointment you will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the Health Visiting Service and discuss how your child is developing and ask any questions.
This review will cover:
- general development, including movement, speech, social skills and behaviour, and hearing and vision
- growth, healthy eating and keeping active
- managing behaviour and encouraging good sleeping habits
- tooth brushing and going to the dentist
- keeping your child safe
- vaccinations
Your health visiting team will send you a questionnaire to fill in before the review. This helps you and your health visitor understand how your baby is developing.
We use the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) designed to give you a better understanding of your child’s development and progress with communication, movement, problem solving, and personal-social skills (washing hands, using utensils playing games, understanding others feelings).
This review is designed to pick up any concerns you have about your baby's health and development and to ensure that if you or your baby need any support from other services we can support you to access these.
Even if you don't have any concerns about your baby's health and development it's important to have this review as we will review your child’s health, development and growth and will also provide age related information for you and your child.
Please bring your red book to this appointment.
